Sorry, I got busy again … here’s your latest round-up of gun loonery from across the state.

• April 29, 2016:

1- A 10-year-old Lebanon boy shot himself in the stomach when left alone at home with a firearm.

2- A man with a gunshot wound was found at the Memphis International Airport baggage claim. Weird.

3- A Nashville 10th grader brought a loaded gun to Hillsboro High School, which happens to be just down the street from me. Ugh.

• April 28, 2015:

1- A Murfreesboro Electric customer threatened to shoot up the utility’s office when his power was cut off.

2- These Parent of the Year Award nominees were arrested after they left a loaded gun under their sleeping one-year-old.

• April 27, 2016:

1- A Brighton woman asleep in bed with her infant was shot in the hip by a bullet fired from outside the home. A 19-year-old has been arrested:

The woman was shot with a rifle near the roadway in front of the home. The bullet entered into the bedroom where the victim was sleeping, traveled through the wall, through the mattress, and struck the victim in the hip.

Not even safe in your own bed, people.

2- A Mt. Juliet gun store was robbed twice in one week. It’s almost as if these places are a magnet for crime or something:

Chandler noted gun stores are popular targets for thieves. And while this particular store did have a surveillance system set up, he said there were some general things store owners (and home owners) can do to deter break-ins like this.

“Make sure the exterior of the property is lit up well, keep it cleaned up and this makes it difficult on the criminal,” he said. “Make access harder. Of course have good locks on the door and try to put up extra barriers, such as bars over glass entries.”

This is a no-brainer. These shouldn’t be suggestions, these should be mandatory requirements for anyone wanting a dealer’s license. Too many of these mom-and-pop “gun stores” operate out of someone’s garage in East Jesus, Tennessee, where the owner still thinks it’s 1950 and they’re selling to law-abiding citizens or whatever bullshit. No, pops. You’re fueling the iron pipeline. Get a clue.

A Muslim gun lover took pictures of racist and Islamophobic merchandise sold at a Memphis gun show:

The gun show producer “had no comment.”

• April 25, 2016:

An argument over a rap song at a Goodlettsville recording studio ended predictably. Armed/polite society, y’all.

• April 24, 2016:

It was only a matter of time before Nashville had its own mass shooting. This one happened at downtown Nashville’s bus station and injured four people. The incident occurred in the middle of the day as the bus station was filled with kids coming home from school (all Metro school students receive free public transportation). Members of Tennessee’s legislature were also on the scene as they had just concluded business for the day.

I’m just shocked that none of our safest, most responsible citizens EVAH were on the scene to play the hero and apprehend the suspect. I mean, I thought that’s why we were tasking citizens with carrying everywhere, right? Come one, do your job!

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested.

• April 15, 2016:

An apparent prostitute accidentally shot herself outside an East Ridge motel. Now that’s bad for business.
